PYPM Mentor, Vision, to teach Get Free 101 Workshop on Sat., Nov. 6

On Saturday, November 6 from 12-3 p.m. at Science Leadership Academy (22nd & Arch Streets), Perry “Vision” DiVirgilio, PYPM Mentor and Director of Mentorship & Leadership Skills, will present "Get Free 101", a workshop dedicated to helping poets to connect to what they've written. As a member of Spoken Soul 215, a theater actor, veteran poet and professional trainer, Vision has acquired performance skills that have propelled him to become well-known in the national poetry community. He will show PYPM poets how to take their poetry performance to the next level and help them understand how to engage and connect with their audiences.

The 6′7” North Philadelphia native is far from quiet, best known for his melodic delivery, and witty word play. Vision is a chameleon. Off stage, the urban griot is approachable, and light natured. In the community, he focuses on the next generation volunteering time with the youth. On stage, he’s intense, focusing on what he feels people need to hear. He’s not much concerned with what people want to hear and takes pride in bringing un-touched issues to the forefront. He’s organized a national spoken word college tour.

Vision has shared billings and stages with Saul Williams, The Last Poets, Sonia Sanchez, Ursula Rucker, Tank, Joe, KRS-1 and Doug E. Fresh.
