PYPM Mentor / Director of Educational Affairs

Cait Miner is an educator, mentor, and poet. She graduated from Temple University in January 2009 with a degree in English and Education. She has been teaching English and Creative Writing at Germantown High School for the past two years. She is the founder of Germantown High School’s poetry club as well as the Co-Founder of the Philadelphia Youth Slam League, which is a branch of PYPM. The goal of PYSL is to have spoken word teams in every Philadelphia high school by the spring of 2011. Along with other PYPM mentors, she currently teaches weekly workshops at Science Leadership Academy.

Her interests include: mentoring/empowering the youth, writing, inspiring social change, forming partnerships with youth focused groups and art projects, curriculum development, teaching, traveling, editing, grant writing, and fundraising.
